Shizuoka Prefecture and Woven by Toyota Sign Partnership Agreement On Innovation Initiatives and Real-World Implementation
SHIZUOKA, Japan (September 3, 2026) — Shizuoka Prefecture and Woven by Toyota, Inc. (“WbyT”) today announced the signing of a partnership agreement aimed at building a society in which people can realize greater well-being.
Under the agreement, the two parties will work together through public-private collaboration on a range of themes. This will include initiatives aimed at advancing safe mobility, promoting innovation in the region, and cultivating next-generation talent.
A shared focus on well-being led to the agreement. Shizuoka Prefecture has set a vision of becoming the happiest prefecture in Japan and is further incorporating a focus on people’s well-being into its policymaking. WbyT, guided by its philosophy of driving change “For Others,” is focused on challenging the current state of mobility through human-centric innovation. This includes through initiatives at Toyota Woven City (“Woven City”), Toyota’s real-world test course for mobility.
