Diversity & Inclusion

Diversity & Inclusion

We are Woven – many threads, one Woven.

Woven by Toyota respects and welcomes all people – regardless of age, disability, chronic condition, gender, LGBTQ+ identity, race, ethnicity, religion, or citizenship. Diversity and inclusion (D&I) to us means interlacing the multicolored threads of unique experience and knowledge that diverse individuals bring to our endeavor.

Diversity drives the innovation and invention that are the lifeblood of our business. We weave our diverse insights and perspectives into a tapestry of many hues – with the strength, resilience, and creativity to carry the earth’s people towards a brighter future.

D&I is also key to making solutions that are universally accessible, understandable, and forgiving of human error. In other words, our ability to consider all users and usage situations depends on embracing human diversity.

THE ABC’S

Diversity is valuable to creative problem solving, team performance and the personal growth of each individual.

Engaging with individuals from different backgrounds opens your mind to new ways of seeing, being, and communicating. You will discover new worlds beyond what you “take for granted” or consider “just common sense.” You may also gain insights into your own culture.

We cannot and will not tolerate bias, harassment, intimidation or discrimination in any form, conscious or unconscious. By understanding that each of us is blind to our own biases we can begin to raise our awareness of these destructive habits. Based on this realization we can nurture healthy attitudes and relationships of mutual dignity.

All members of Woven by Toyota are expected to help create an inclusive culture where people feel safe, valued, and encouraged to contribute with confidence.

Learn to treat every person as a unique individual. Do not generalize or jump to conclusions (positive or negative stereotypes) based on anything you have heard or think you know about a person.

We must free ourselves and our teammates from pressure to conform, fear of social sanction, and worry about “what people might think.”

Never assume that anyone (including yourself) should behave a certain way because of their gender, age, or other attributes.

To be productive and enjoy a healthier work-life balance, everyone must feel free to bring their whole selves to the workplace and to express as much or as little of their differences as they wish. The choice is yours. “Happy, healthy and productive" is our ideal for the Woven workforce.
